Goals Statement

My primary goal and wish by entering this field of study has never changed, which is to build more reliable and effective means for instructors, to facilitate the learning that could eventually benefit the learners. Though I didn’t plan my route purposefully, when I reviewed my courses and projects participated, I found my interest focuses on education background topics, for example, the designing of “Faculty’s Cross-cultural Awareness Training” and “Networking Coach”, the evaluation project of a “Digital Document Processing Software/ System Operated in a College School”, the needs analysis project of “A College School’s Plan of Data Demonstration” and etc.

 

   I would still like to serve at an educational organization, higher education or K-12, to practice what I’ve learnt, speaking of the future, as I have a five-year experience as a high school teacher prior to the entering of the program and because of much passion to explore effectiveness and efficiency of learning. Next generation of school education is my first interest because the changing technology and notions needs time and experiment in real time situations. I observed much coming and going of technologies in school education and I am wondering how and when technology could totally change the shape of school education, in a positive way, overturning everything nowadays we believe it is true. Upon the future, while learning new knowledge and skills are very important, the alignment with the most current notions of learning and instruction researches, studies and theories are still the essential part for me to develop on the right track. The IST master’s program should be a start, not an end.
