I am currently working in CeLT(Center for Language Technology) at Indiana University. My major duty is to create at least two training certificate for the hourly paid employees hired by the department. The CeLTIE department aims to use these certificates to build up a new training and human resource development system that could not only help to hire and keep more qualified and skillful student employees, but also provide service for users more widely.

The minimum demanded 2 certificates to build are

1) CeLTIE qualified lab assistant certificate

2) Basic Video Editing Certificate (based on Window Movie Maker).

Both of the certificate would be finished by the end of the semester or May.9, 2014, which comes the first.

The process of my work starts with the initiation meeting with SME, as well as my clients. After knowing their needs and priority, I started to work on these two certificates from a list of option. I have interviewed them furtherly and talked with some lab assistants. Nevertheless, I worked 8-10 hours weekly as a lab assistants to observe the most frequent needed service, routines of the lab and what are the problems and possibilities of the language lab and its employees.

After the completion of the training material, I would ask for some volunteers to partcipate in the "trail run" to assess the content and design of the training. After the simulated training finished, I would modify the parts seem to have problem. The final product would also conclude job-aids if necessary and applicable.

I have also participated a instructional design project which aims to design efficient and effective "free" courses for underprivilege people to pass GED test to get equivolent level of high school diploma.

I was distributed in a Pilot B team, which would conduct an instructional design of a prototyping reading course based on social studies context, "American Civil War". However, the condition is very restricted as we should consider learner's comparatively lower levels of reading and Internet accessibility and the length is no longer than one hour.

The teamwork is based on exchanging E-mail and regular Google Hangout meeting because all of us are from different corners in the States. Sometimes, we encountered technological bottle necks but we fortunately agreed on a most do-able plan.

Our final project, which is create upon Google Slides would be completed by May.3, 2014.
